Dr. Regina Sims

Founder & President

Dr. Regina Sims is a passionate and dedicated educator who has faithfully served in various school districts throughout the Houston area for more than 30 years. Highly respected by her peers, she has positively influenced the lives of thousands of students and educators during her distinguished career. Currently, she serves as an educator at San Jacinto College and remains actively involved in numerous professional organizations.

Dr. Sims is the President-Elect for Region 4 Texas Council of School Women Executives and serves on the Executive Board of the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE) as Chaplain. She is also an active member of the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators (HAABSE). Her outstanding leadership has been recognized through multiple honors, including HAABSE Principal of the Year (2020) and TABSE Principal of the Year (2022).

A proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University and Walden University, Dr. Sims earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Beyond her dedication to education, Dr. Sims is also deeply committed to global service. As a licensed missionary, she has participated in short-term mission trips for over 20 years, serving underprivileged children and families in more than 17 countries. Each summer, she devotes two weeks to humanitarian work abroad, fulfilling what she believes is her divine calling to serve both locally and globally.

Dr. Sims has been happily married to Dowen Sims for over 30 years. Together, they have two children, Desmond and Aleyah Sims, whose love and support she credits as vital to her success. Her unwavering faith in God and her “can-do” attitude continue to inspire both scholars and educators alike. Dr. Sims lives by the scripture:
